Ledesma and Miner had invited “parent’s rights” groups to the meeting to support the policy. They came to the OUSD board meeting from Los Angeles, South OC, and as far away as Antelope Valley...

State Assemblyman Bill Essayli (R-Riverside), who authored a filed bill that would have legislated the trans notification policy, flew down from Sacramento. The news media was there. The influx of out-of-towners turned the district office parking lot into a mob scene of bullhorns, handmade signs, rainbow outfits and angry gestures. The boardroom interior did not look much different.


Orange, CA - Members of the Orange Unified Rcall have filed a felony criminal complaint against Frank Rodriguez and Leandra Blades for conspiring to direct a minor (the child of Leandra Blades) to commit a fraud by knowingly and intentionally signing a fake name and address to a recall petition. The(y) apparently did not know or did not care, until they were caught, that their acts were criminal and interfered with the rights of voters to recall elected officials they believe have violated their oath of office.

Kristi Hirst, a parent of three students in Chino Valley public schools, came to the Orange Unified meeting to describe what could happen if this motion is passed.

“Let Chino serve as a warning,” Hirst said. “This policy has been inaccurately portrayed as a parent’s rights policy, but it is the exact opposite. This policy put teachers and the government right in the middle of family matters. It puts the government at our kitchen tables.”
